Veneers
Porcelain dental veneers can completely transform the look of your teeth. Our experienced and talented cosmetic dentist, Dr. Siavash Zar offers porcelain veneers as a solution to correct a number of dental issues including chips, gaps, discoloration and teeth misalignment. Veneers are thin shells of ceramic material and are custom-designed to look and feel like your natural teeth.
Tooth Extractions
There are a number of reasons you may need a tooth extracted. A common reason to have teeth pulled is because of severe decay or damage. Teeth may be damaged by an accident, broken or cracked so badly that the tooth must be removed. One of the leading causes for tooth loss in adults is gum disease. For patients with advanced gum disease, the surrounding gum and bone deteriorate and cause the tooth to prematurely fall out or in some cases, be physically extracted. Teeth might also be removed for orthodontic reasons, to improve alignment or to remove extra teeth.
One of the most common types of tooth extraction we perform is wisdom teeth removal. The third molars (wisdom teeth) are generally extracted before teeth are fully formed, in adolescents and young adults. Wisdom teeth can cause significant pain, particularly when there is not room for the teeth to grow. In severe cases, wisdom teeth can become impacted, leading to infection, decay, damage to neighboring teeth and misalignment to the bite.
Root Canals
Root canals are one of the most common dental procedures performed on an annual basis. This simple treatment can save your natural teeth and prevent the need of dental implants or bridges.
At the center of your tooth is a collection of blood vessels called Pulp, the pulp helps to build the surrounding tooth. When an infection develops in the pulp it can be caused by trauma to the tooth, decay, cracks and chips, or repeated dental procedures. Symptoms of an infection can be easily identified as visible injury or swelling of the tooth, sensitivity to hot and / or cold, or pain in the tooth and gums.
If you experience any of these symptoms, we will most likely recommend a procedure where injured pulp is removed and the root canal system is thoroughly cleaned and sealed. If your tooth is not in a condition to respond to endodontic treatment or the chance of success is unfavorable, you will be informed at the time of consultation or when a complication arises.
When your root canal therapy has been completed, together we will decide on what type of restoration is necessary to protect your tooth. It is rare for endodontic patients to experience complications after routine endodontic treatment. If a problem does occur, however, we are available at all times to respond.
